NO PRACTICE DAY
We do not have practice on MLK day. We will resume practice on Tuesday following MLK day.
GRADE CHECK
Your child's grades and education is important and a top priority. We want to know how your child is progressing with their academic studies. Please turn in your child's grades for each progress check the team announces. Students who turn in their grades are awarded throughout the season and at the end of the year during the annual team banquet. If your child is struggling in school, please speak to any coaching staff and we will do our best to help with support and resources we may have.

Practice / Track meet Call Outs
If your child will be absent from practice or the track meet, please let us know in advance. Advance notice is considered 7 days advance notice. Please give us one week's notice if you will not be at the track meet. If your child is going to be late or absent from practice, please communicate the absent to your child's coach. Any child who misses three or more practice will not be entered in the track meet.

- How old does my child have to be to join? 5. We do require your child to be able to complete a practice in its entirety.
- Where do we practice at? South Mountain High School, located in the heart of our community South Phoenix!
- Do we have try outs? No, all kids who have a drive to succeed, display positive sportsmanship and want to have fun in the sports of Track and field are welcome to join our team, we do not have "tryouts". You will have one week to participate before club fees are due, please use this time to evaluate your child's ability and your commitment to the club and season.
- How long is practice? Practice time can vary depending on the weather; however, we ask that you plan for 2 hours of practice time for each designated practice session, the times may be shorter during the winter months.
- Do you need any special shoes? Yes. Runners will need distance running shoes or spikes and sprinters will need a quality pair of spikes and running shoes.
- Can I get a refund if I change my mind? No, we do not do any refunds. This includes all reasons related to COVID and any other reasons. Please be sure you agree with the non-refundable payment.
- Where are the track meets held? Track meets are held at various location in Phoenix, Chandler, Glendale, Gilbert, Buckeye, Queen Creek and Mesa.
- What is required of parents? All parents will need to volunteer a few hours during the 7-month season. All team member parents are required to help.
- Do we Travel out of town? We travel 2-3 times per year, and it is not MANDATORY if you are unable to make the trips, please let us know.
- How will you know your child's events? The coaches decide what event your child will compete in.
- Parents are not allowed to demand or request special or specific events for their child. Coaches are in charge of the events and will make the best choice they see as most appropriate for your child.
- What if I don't want my child in a event or want to add another event? Please speak directly to your child's coach, he/she would be happy to speak with you.
- What is required from the parents? Every parent/guardian will be required to volunteer for club duties of the finish line and clerking.
