Details About Us

Our History

Do Right Educational Sports Program started in 1999.  The program was started by Mr. Gaylord Freeman in collaboration with other local community volunteers.  During the first year of existence, the team was successful in advancing to the National Junior Olympic Championships in Buffalo, New York, where they returned with multiple National Ranking athletes who placed in the finals!  Since the onset we have been blessed to continue great success stories on the team.  Our National Ranking finalists have been from all age divisions, both males and females.  When browsing through the USATF Junior Olympics results, you will find Do Right athletes listed in sprints, relays, distance runs, race walk, Hurdles, LJ, HJ, TJ, and many throwing events.

We pride ourselves on building diversity for athletes as we know every athlete is unique to their own talents.   We continue to have great success with coaches who volunteer of their time, to give back to the community of South Phoenix.  Our coaching staff are trained, committed to excellence and have completed the necessary steps to ensure they are “USATF Three Step Certified” for the wellbeing of your children.  Our most recent success is returning from the 2024 JO meet with multiple national ranking athletes! If you're looking to be a part of a great team filled with a rewarding experience, come join our team!!
